A GLOBAL FUND FOR VISION
A global fund for vision
What is the Vision Catalyst Fund (VCF)?
Good vision unlocks human potential. It improves earning, learning and wellness for individuals, communities and countries.
Over a billion (1) people around the world living with the consequences of sight loss because people do not have access to eye care services.
We are a funder for eye health services in lower and middle-income countries. Our funding is deployed where it can be catalytic, taking calculated risks to meet the needs of the vision crisis in new ways. This may be by backing market based solutions or strengthening the systems that improve peoples’ access to eye health services.
We fund programmes that have the potential to scale, working across multiple sectors and becoming sustainable in the future.
Why the VCF?
There is currently no organisation coordinating funding to help end the vision crisis. We act as a neutral global organisation working across multiple geographies and sectors to coordinate funding to find the most effective solutions to end the vision crisis.
There is an estimated $25bn gap (2) in funding for eye health services. The VCF is working to help raise capital from new and alternative sources to bridge this gap.
