A GLOBAL RESOURCE MOBILISATION FUND FOR VISION

Mobilising catalytic capital for sustainable eye health

Good vision helps people learn, work, care for their families and participate fully in society.

Yet more than 1 billion people live with treatable vision loss, most in low- and middle-income countries. Simple solutions are available, from glasses to cataract surgery, but eye health remains underfunded, fragmented and too often absent from national health budgets.

The Vision Catalyst Fund mobilises catalytic capital to help countries strengthen and scale eye health through national systems.

We work with donors, governments and technical partners to move eye health beyond short-term projects and towards sustainable financing, delivery and accountability.

Why the VCF?

Eye health is one of the smartest investments in development, but it does not yet have the financing architecture needed to match the scale of the problem.

VCF is helping to close that gap.

We pool donor and partner capital, align it with country-led priorities, and support financing pathways that can unlock larger-scale investment. Our role is to help turn early catalytic funding into long-term, sustainable eye health delivery.

This means supporting countries to integrate eye care into wider health and development priorities, strengthen coordination between health and finance decision-makers, and build systems that can serve people sustainably.

Our mission is clear:

To mobilise and align the capital, partnerships and evidence needed to help countries deliver lasting, sustainable eye health, ensuring everyone, everywhere, has the chance to see and to thrive.
